All-Sufficient Jesus: A to Z

The Wukari crusade was certainly one for the books! What do you imagine when you picture God’s power on the move, replaying the acts of the Apostles with the greater glory of the latter days? From March 28th to April 2nd, the city of Wukari, Taraba state, Nigeria, became the epicenter of a remarkable spiritual awakening. The beautiful people of Wukari gave us their unrivaled support and warm reception—from political figures and traditional leaders to religious authorities and educational administrators.

Each day of the crusade, the turnout defied all our expectations, with crowds swelling to three times what we had anticipated. The prophecy of Psalm 110:3 came to life before our eyes, “Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power.” Yes, we saw thousands of willing people gather to hear the gospel.

This edition of the global crusade was unlike the regular; it doubled as an Easter retreat themed “The All-Sufficient Jesus”. So, picture thousands of people in the presence of God for five days and six nights, coming back again, and again to hear the undiluted word of God and witness the power of Christ’s resurrection at work and you’ll understand the powerful move of God in Wukari. In today’s world plagued by spiritual apathy with people having itching, there was a resurrection of a desire to experience God, not only in Wukari but across the globe where thousands of people were connected via every major social media platform.

The opening ceremony witnessed a distinguished assembly from heads of security and government officials to heads of churches, and traditional rulers. Every social class was represented and united before the King of kings. Notable among them was the traditional ruler of Wukari, the Aku Uka of Wukari, Elder Manu Adda Ali, who extended a warm welcome to Dr. Kumuyi, the GCK team, and all attendees. Additionally, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the executive governor of Taraba state, was a huge pillar of support, acting as chief host and opening the doors of Taraba to the gospel. Talk about a leader after God’s heart.

Governor Kefas shared a historic video clip from 1985, highlighting the enduring impact of Dr. Kumuyi’s ministry on his life and countless youths in Wukari. He testified to how the ministry and teaching of the man of God had shaped their impressionable minds and destinies into what God has made them today. It was indeed a humbling moment.

Dr. Kumuyi, at 82 years old, delivered a staggering eighteen sermons over six days with vigor reminiscent of the biblical Moses. From the crack of dawn until late evenings, Dr. Kumuyi illuminated the all-sufficiency of Jesus Christ, presenting Him through the prism of the 26 English alphabets (from A to Z). Each night saw a demonstration of God’s miraculous power in an atmosphere of joy and celebration, reaffirming Jesus as the ultimate solution to every human need. Many souls were saved, blind eyes received sight instantly, all kinds of walking aids went up in the air as the lame walked, ran, and danced in excitement.

Despite the already packed program, Dr W. F. Kumuyi made time for high schoolers, college students, and young professionals, hosting them at the special Impact Academy, themed “Jesus Aglow in Me.” He invited successful professionals to challenge the faith and minds of these next generation leaders and closed the academy with a powerful charge urging them to glow with excellence while upholding the banner of Christ in this world.

Christ declared his ministry in Luke 4:18 – The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Truly, this day, the scriptures find fulfillment in our midst.
