Grace and Power Outpoured

As we set foot in Ahoada, a humble town in the Orashi region of Rivers State, Nigeria, it was clear that something extraordinary was about to unfold. From September 26 to October 1, 2024, this small town became the epicenter of an outpouring of God’s grace that reverberated across the globe during the September edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK). The locals had been waiting for this moment, and from the very first night, the atmosphere was alive with expectation.

Standing in the dusty field on that opening Thursday evening was surreal, surrounded by people from all walks of life—government officials, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and families with children in tow—eager to experience God’s power. The GCK has a way of dissolving barriers, and Ahoada was no exception. There was no division here—only hearts united in their hunger for more of God.

The crusade theme, The Wonders of God’s Grace, came alive in the testimonies shared from previous editions. Hearing how God had moved before was powerful, and it only heightened the faith of the thousands who gathered night after night under the open sky. You could feel the anticipation building with each song of worship that echoed across the field and through the live broadcasts to faraway places.

One of the most unforgettable moments was the global orchestra playing in perfect harmony, with instrumentalists from Africa, North America, Europe, and Asia uniting in a symphony of praise. Standing in that crowd, you couldn’t help but be swept up in the music as it filled the air, drawing hearts heavenward. It wasn’t just the people in Ahoada who were blessed—this was a global celebration of God’s grace.

Another highlight was Kory Van Matre, an American worship leader who led the global audience in worship each night, singing both in English and Igbo. There was something special about hearing a familiar local language from a foreign voice—it connected us all in a shared expression of devotion. As Kory raised his hands, you could see the joy and faith reflected in the beautiful faces of the people, mirroring the joy of believers worldwide.

And then, Dr. Kumuyi took the stage. As always, his message was clear, simple, and powerful. He spoke of God’s grace—universal, boundless, and available to all. From the platform, you could see the hands go up all over the crowd as people responded to the altar call. Witnessing how God’s grace drew so many to salvation each night was overwhelming. This was the heartbeat of the crusade—the transformation of lives through the message of Christ.

But the wonders didn’t stop at salvation. On the fourth night, we heard the testimony of Mrs. Blessing Agi, a woman who had endured eight long years of trauma-induced insomnia after being abducted in 2016. With unspeakable Jesus’ joy, she shared how she had slept peacefully since the first night of the crusade—a miracle she had repeatedly prayed for. Another testimony came live from a hospital in Umuahia, where a young man who had been bedridden for two weeks after a severe spinal cord injury was shown sitting upright, healed after Pastor Kumuyi’s prayer reached him through the broadcast. You could hear gasps and praise erupt from the crowd as the testimonies were shared—God was moving in ways we could never fully comprehend. Thousands worldwide, watching the crusade live stream from their screens, were just as much a part of God’s miraculous work.

As the crusade ended, it was hard to leave Ahoada. The six days had flown by, but the impact was eternal. The next stop on this incredible journey of grace is Enugu, Nigeria, from October 24 to 29, 2024, for The Day of His Power. If Ahoada was any indication, we are in for another remarkable move of God. Don’t miss it, whether in person or online—there’s no telling what God has in store!
